Help chosing a camera

I could really do with some help on picking a camera please!

In a couple of months I'm doing a trek through the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu. Really would like to buy a decent camera for it, but require one that takes disposable batteries as we are camping and will have nowhere to charge batteries. .

Looking for something with quite a quick response as this is something I've had a problem with in the past - missing moments!

finding a good camera with disposable batteries will be a hard task.

higher end cameras tend to chew through battery life.

you could look at bridge cameras from fujifilm.

if your adamant on an interchangable lens / slr it might be worth buying one with an additional battery grip. most battery grips come with an insert option to use AA batteries instead of the rechargable blocks.

these can be pricey, around the £100 on top of the slr cost. and the AAs tend not to last more than a day of photos and even less with video

Generally, cameras that take regular batteries tend to be low end. That does not mean they do not take an ok photo, but that they may be weak on features. There is a discussion here:

But to save time, the Canon A1XXX series and the Nikon Coolpix L series do.

you should buy the camera which charge with sunlight and there is one come with these features
