Thanks for the kind words Sabrina.

That was a very close win, thanks to DigiDiva, frostyuk, kerbside, mabbutt, nick_gray, Sabrina_De_Winter, wil59 for my votes.

My vote went to "Mezelf" by Sabrina I loved the composition, textures and overall capture of this shot I could easily see this picture on the packaging of a video game or on a film poster.

Great work with the Retro photo booth shot DD it did make me chuckle and I remember doing that as well!

Loved the focus on Nick_Grays "Me" as well in all another great week.

Up - AlexHarrison - Me, myself and eye

Great shot, very nicely done and a great idea to colour pop the eye the only picky comment I will make is the edge of the processing is a bit ragged but in all a great entry.

Down - JediBoy - YOU LOOKING AT ME?!

I definately prefer the black & white version over the colour so you picked the right shot to enter in my opinion, I thought this shot was a very strong entry you have handled all the technical aspects well and I love the pose. TBH there was nothing I could see wrong with this shot.

I already have the next theme, after I submitted my entry my 8 year old daughter said "If you win daddy I think you should make the next theme ............." so all will be revealed later

congratulations to wave machine. I was struggling for a while with who to vote for. It came down to yourself and Sabrina. The deciding factor for me was the oof end of the shelf (i think?) was distracting me and constantly pulled my eye away from the rest of the image. Apart from that it was a great shot.

Sabrina: i loved the eye contact in your image as well as the colours. Again,a great shot.

well done everyone else on some nice creative
photos.

My vote went to beautiful Sabrina, far better looking than Dave

Seriously though I voted for Sabrina due to the originality of the photo, whereas Dave's refrigerator photo although extremely good. has been done so many, many times.

[QUOTE=hssutton;88983 has been done so many,many times.[/QUOTE]

Not with me in it hasn't

Seriously though I have seen a couple in the past but then haven't gone looking for them, it is an interesting point though it is probably nigh on impossible to do anything original with the number of Digital Cameras and of course the Internet.

Personally I think of something I would like to shoot and get my own take on it, I don't even go to google images for inspiration I just photograph what I want to photograph. Occassionally I will see a shot in a magazine or a location that I want to have a go at but there will always be a different element to it especially outdoor shots as nature will never repeat itself

Congratulations to Dave on the win. It was a great photo and a deserved winner.

Ups - Just raiding the fridge.

Really liked this, and thought it was well executed. The expression onyuur face lends a degree of fun to the photo, which only adds to the overall effect.
Nearly got my vote, but not quite. A really good photo I thought.

Downs - Me

Nicely composed and great detail, focus was spot on. Nothing at all wrong here, a good photo.

My vote went to Sabrina. Great detail in the photo, and I liked the original idea, and the effort that went into the camouflage face paint.

Thanks to Daggers62 for my vote.
Voting was difficult this week - some really good photos.

Well done Dave, I liked your shot but my vote went to Sabrina, her eyes are much less scary than yours

As I'm such a novice I won't presume to offer any technical critique but here's what I thought about ...

UP
elviskennyg "me" - I like the mystery created by the processing used

DOWN
Sabrina "Mezelf" - it was the clarity and contrast of the eyes against the camouflage that grabbed my attention and won my vote

Thank you for taking the time to look at my entry, maybe I'll be inspired to try again.

I think Dave makes a good point here. It is very difficult to be original, I think it can be difficult to do something that's not been done before.

I think you missed the point, it was the originality of Sabrina's entry that that swung my vote away from Dave's entry. I completely agree it's extremely difficult to do anything truly original anymore, but I think Sabrina just about managed it.

I didn't miss your point at all. In fact, I agree with what you said. And for the same reasons I voted for Sabrina.

I still think Dave makes a good point though.

I think we all agree on that I voted for her image on that basis in addition to the quality of the shot and the shear effort she went to.

I did make the point purely because it is something that has been bothering me for some time to a degree (Harry sort of coaxed it out of me) it nearly put me off taking photos but then I thought about some of the most photographed places, I came to the conclusion I still enjoy looking at images of those places despite different photographers taking similar shots or different takes on the shot.

I think this is one of the reasons photography is such a great hobby as you can try to be completely original, look at a scene and shoot it with your own take/twist or try and recreate an iconic image. The possibilities are endless.
