Unfortunately it appears that this photo was taken last Autumn, so would not be eligible. Photos must be taken within the time frame as listed in the rules.

That's not a bad idea Nick. I will try at a different time and hope that they are a bit more active.
And maybe try the football instead of the rugby ball.
Cheers.

I went out to the fields in our village the other day to try and get a panning photo of horses running.
Horse, it seems, are like swans. They like to eat and not play for the camera. So I left the fields empty handed.
But on the way home I got this of a car driving by. Not great but the best I've managed to get so far, and the end of the month is rapidly approaching. And there's loads of snow here!

Not a bad effort, I've experienced the same problem, due to quite bad arthritis I don't get out when the weathers bad, but Thursday was quite a pleasant day.
Where I live we have miles upon miles of coastal nature reserves, so I thought I would spend a few hours touring the reserves.
Facing South I have the sea on my left with the reserves on my right plus an RAF bombing range, so I thought I'm bound to get an opportunity. However fate decided otherwise, no aircraft over the sea range, not a seagull to be seen anywhere. Even the fresh water ponds and lakes where deserted.
So like you I snapped a car.

Harry

Thanks guys. I suppose cars are always about so when all else fails......
Sounds like you have a good location on your doorstep Harry. Even if the planes and Animals don't make life easy, still a nice spot to be I would imagine

Same weather over here, rain, snow, colllddd. I hope summer is coming soon!!

Good picture, i don't know why, but in my eyes it looks like the car is riding backwards... Definitely something wrong with my eyes, or my brains

Sabrina I get the same effect, could this possibly be due to the highish 1/30 sec shutter speed and a pan that is also a little fast.

Do you get the same effect with my photo. 1/13 sec @ f/22

i think it's because the front of the car is a bit blurry and the back is perfect focus, meaning it looks like the back is coming towards you.
