Photographer Skills

Hi,

I shoot RAW with my DSLR and fine tune using software such as DPP / PS / LR.

Changes involving color saturation, recovering, WB and so on to my satisfactory before save and convert to JPEG.

Sometimes viewing the shots on camera LCD looks good but on computer later will reveal differently.

Now, would you consider that with such changes is a good photographer work or the photographer skills still lacking and need further improvement in using the DSLR?

Please help me to understand.

Thanks.

I am not really sure what you are asking. Do you mean is it better to get it right in the camera as opposed to fixing it later?

What you view on the camera screen is processed version of your photograph. If you think of it in terms of film, your raw file is undeveloped film. Once you put it on the computer you use software to develop it how you want. The picture on the back of your camera is like dropping the roll of film into Boots and having them develop it for you.
