Hi Gordon, welcome to the forums

eBay can be a great place to buy from. I would advise caution on camera bodies however. If they come from Hong Kong, China or basically anywhere outside of Europe the camera won't necessarily be the same specification as a UK model and it won't have a UK/EU warranty.
Lenses are generally OK as they have global warranties.

Just follow the usual eBay principles. Check the seller, make sure you know exactly what you're buying before you buy and stick to UK/EU sellers.

If you're after camera advice then be prepared for the usual barrage of Canon vs. Nikon "advice"!!
My advice would be get the best deal. Both are good cameras. If you've got old Canon or Nikon kit you might be able to use it on the new camera so that could be important. Otherwise, pick the best deal!

Thats not a bad value kit (considering it's from Jessops!).

The Tamron is better than the Sigma 70-300 which is a bonus. Now it's just a case of getting out and using it!
