Glad to hear that the op seems to have gone ok, Jediboy.

I'm not sure if Brendan is aware that he's won the weekend competition, as he doesn't appear to have been on the forum since the 2nd March. I hope he is ok, but can I suggest a contingency plan? If he hasn't managed to post a new theme by say midday tomorrow (Friday), that someone else chooses the theme?

There were 3 runners-up, so it may be a bit tricky to organise, especially as I'm away from my desk for most of tomorrow. So perhaps we could get the other runner-ups to decide (DigiDiva and Sabrina) or my suggestion would be to roll back to last weekend's competition winner, and get Alex to set the theme again.

Here's hoping that Brendan reads this and posts a new theme soon, else what do other's think?

Nick

Sorry

Hi guys,
I do appologise, I've been offline for a few days due to technical difficuities with broadband.

wow! thanks for everyones votes.I'm quite chuffed to have won as there were some very nice shots.

I have messaged Wavemachine, who has kindly offered to sort out the threads for the knew theme on my behalf, until I figure out what to do! lol.

Just as a heads up, I have chosen the theme "Me"
Self portraits, with no restriction on editing.

Thanks guys.

Brendan

Great shots, with good lighting. I think anyone of the individual photos might have won, but I feel that the division between them was a little too strong and overwhelmed the kiwi slices. Perhaps a lighter or wider border might improve it.

Nick
thanks for the comment - i actually had another version without the divisions:

kiwi triptych 2 by alexharrison101, on Flickr

but preferred the one with the line, myself! my ups and downs:

UP: Green. i was envious of the skills to take this shot i only decided against it because it seemed slightly soft to my eyes. great idea!

DOWN: green shoots of recovery. lovely bokeh and the green really stood out - well done.

my vote went to granny smiths in the end, but it was a difficiult call!

It is a little soft. I think I rushed the shot slightly. I plan on spending a little more time on doing the shoot again but better.
