technique on gimp

hi everyone, im after some help on gimp. i have got a photo of a couple of mates hugging and i want to use it to wind them up. i want to either cut it out in a heart shape, or maybe make the whole image one block colour, with them two of them in a kind of heart shaped bubble. does anyone know how i can achieve this? i know this is not exactly a pros problem, but i really do owe them one after my stag do!

many thanks, craig

Hi Craig

Don't really use Gimp very much but you could try adding a new layer in pink and using the eraser tool with a fairly soft edge to remove a heart shaped area in the middle.
