Hi Everyone.
This is not so much a question as thinking out loud and getting info out there for others in a similar position to me.
As I said in my first post. I am new to the DSLR realm, I did have a Digital "point and shoot" but nothing that required (at least at the time and with my lack of knowledge) an editing suite such as Photoshop.
With my D3100 I received Photoshop Elements 11 as a Christmas present, which, lets be honest, for someone like me is a brilliant bit of editing software, but there are omissions to keep the price down, a prime example is one thing I want to do is HDR which is not part of the package.
As most people will know a full Photoshop is, erm, expensive to say the least, certainly out of my wallet range for a while. I had heard, rightly or wrongly, that with earlier versions of Elements you could buy individual "features" as add ons as you wanted, so I started hunting the net. I came across "
Adobe Elements +", which is a simple download and unlocks features within Elements, after checking it I was amazed to see the features it unlocked and yet it is UNDER £10!!!
My dad who is a keen amateur Digital photographer, has used Elements for years had never heard of it, nor had any of my friends who are also keen Photog's.
Why has this been kept quiet for so long? Maybe I've not been moving in the right circles but I can't believe all the people I know who use Elements would NOT have heard of it all this time. I've certainly never seen it advertised, although I confess I have been known to miss what is right under my nose sometimes.
As I said, it will not be as powerful as a full Photoshop, but for some who need more functions then Elements provides, but don't need a full Photoshop this could be the ideal solution, not to mention, much much cheaper.
Hope that is of some help to others.
