iv'e always used a little lens cleaning fluid and a micro fiber cloth with no ill effects

I use Solution 30 optical lens cleaner on mine with no problems

i was reading something about breathing on you lenses to clean them ( sure it was nikon related ) that the acid within your breath could potentially damage the coatings on the lens over time

iv'e never heard of it happening myself but for all you conspiracy theorists out there it's something to keep in mind
