I'm in complete agreement with you Dave, you buy what you can afford. Last Thursday I was at an RSPB reserve near Doncaster.

Mixing with the big boys sporting the massive white lenses (camouflaged) such as the 300mm f/2.8, 400mm and 500mm primes + extenders, I've got to admit to feeling very inadequate

Hey just a quick question.. Will " EF " lens Fit on " EOS " or will a m mount be needed?

Depends which EOS you are referring to, if you are referring to an EOS digital SLR then yes, if you are referring to the EOS M camera then yes but it will need an adaptor to attach the lens with.
