Chat Thread: "This year I will ..." 1st to 3rd January 2010

This week's theme comes to you courtesy of self and Jinky and revisits a previous idea, namely your plans for the coming year - from humble resolutions to grand designs and particularly anything photographic - under the title: "This year I will ..."

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Del

PS. Remember that the time period for entries has been extended to include Friday.

General guidelines for the DCM weekly competition

1. To be valid images must be taken on the Fri,Sat,Sun of the competition, that is during Friday Saturday and Sunday in your time zone.

2. The subject must be set so that no one, will be excluded by limit of location, environment or equipment etc.

3. Generally there are no limits Post processing, unless the subject setter has specified basic adjustments only. Basic adjustments would be Levels brightness and sharpness etc. There is no restriction on equipment that can be used.

4. Images submitted after 12:00 UK time on the Monday may not be included as the poll thread must be set up. The poll runs for 2 days from the posting of the poll so that it generally ends mid day Wednesday.

5. The winner must set the new topic before Friday to give entrants time to think of ideas and get ready for the shoot, the competition starts on Friday, no images taken before that time are valid and will not be included in the poll.

6. The winner is then responsible for starting the Chat thread, Entry thread, and setting and managing the poll

7. Voters may not vote on their own image, the poll is set as open so you can see who appreciated your work.

Damn Del - I have just realised the date and will hopefully be at Wetherby Races on 4th January if weather is OK taking a few pics. Still happy to do the poll on my return. If it is OK with everyone it means the poll will again run from around 5/6pm on the Monday. If weather is bad I`ll not be going and will do at the normal time so all should aim to get their entries in for 12 noon as per stated deadline.
Good luck all and a Happy New Year

What a way to start the New Year with a real teaser! Some interesting images springing up in the mind, but how do i get them to camera!!!! Perhaps images should be untitled until the very last minute ( sending the titles to Jinky as he puts the poll together) to add to the fun

According to the met office and their nearest station, the temperature here at 9.00am was minus 7 ! (Brrr) This year I will be staying inside until the temperature recovers to something sensible. As I mentioned before I have Reynauds and temperatures like this quickly lead to fingers and toes becomming totaly white and without feeling, movement is very limited until they come back to life, which hurts!

So I might manage an entry if the weather allows, but it's looking very unlikely.

I suffer in the cold too as I get awful shakes from my Parkies very quickly - Plenty of places to set up the tripod around the home though

A busy weekend ahead, so getting mine in while I have the chance. Having enthusiastically agreed to Andy's suggestion about leaving them untitled, as it is the New Year, I am going to provide a clue. I was given a book by Harry Weber for Christmas ...

And by making this resolution public, I hope that I will have more luck in sticking to it than I normally do.

Well, I have gone with a compilation of 3 shots taken at various shutter speeds to give a little notion of the motion.

Just a rushed one from me. Had a couple more images to include but light levels / shutter speeds had caused more blurring again and I ran out of time.
Another failed resolution from me then this year

And the apron says "I am a crazy mother cooker" in case of any doubt. A present from my eldest to my wife.
