Angry Turning off Colour control on a Canon 9000 for photoshop

Hi.
Could anybody help I am not convinced that I am not getting colour printing conflicts.
I have profiled my screen using a colour monkey, I have created colour profiles using the monkey for Photo shop Elements using 5 /6 / 8.

But when I print I am not convinced that the printer is not over ruling the Photoshop profile.
The system asks me to check I have turned the printer colour control off but I am unable to identify the particular area to do this from.

I am sorry if this a basic question but it is driving me nuts and everybody has half an answer. To say nothing of the paper and ink that I waste.

Thanks for any help.

Hi DLC, welcome to the forums.

A quick Google has lead me to the following 2 peices of advice...

Quote:
In the Canon Pixma Pro Properties Dialog Window, on the Main Page, you will want to select Manual in the Color/Intensity Box and click on Set. That will open the Manual Color Adjustment and under Color Correction select None. Then click okay and you have turned Color Management over to Photoshop.

I am just off the line with Canon support. They say that once you check "Photoshop manages colors" and select a profile that PS is in control of the printer and there is no need deal with any other printer settings (in the Canon software. etc)

i have a canon s9000 i use ICC profiles for different photo papers from here

http://wandb.com/icc.htm

there is full instructions on how to use the profiles within each zip file

i was finding it difficult to get some types of paper to print correctly it was allways a bit of a hit n miss affair using the canon print preview to estimate how the print was going to to turn out but since using the ICC profiles from the above link i get a lot more accurate results especially on kodak photo paper which i was having a hell of a time with

it says for print driver ver 1.52 but i use the latest driver ver 1.61 and there fine
