I seem to have gone in a different direction to others this week. Some good entries so far though.

I do find it interesting to see how different people interpret the theme. And in turn makes me realise that I could benefit from 'thinking outside the box.'

After trying to get my daughters to be civil to one another for the love theme a few weeks ago, I knew that I wouldn't be too successful with them for this theme, so I tried something different

Thank you to brendan1980, Chris14B, DigiDiva, elviskennyg, hssutton, ianpinion, Jediboy, Jimbojumbo, mabbutt, nick_gray for my votes.

I knew what I wanted when I took my shot and how I intended to process it but getting the shot was a challenge, Jess and Willow were sat on a log in a field just down the road from us but the dog kept falling off the log, Jess was looking the wrong way or my wife who helped with the shot kept getting in the frame (glad I wasn't using film), thankfully it paid off in the end and I did manage to capture what I wanted with the added bonus of Willow poking her toungue out

Up - DigiDiva - Getting to Know You

A great idea and a nice fun shot, we always refer to this as a doggy coffee morning and it is fun to see, your shot captures the atmosphere of this nicely my only crit is the shot is a bit dark so you can;'t see much detail in the dogs. Our dog is black and the best way I have found to get more detail is switch to spot metering or dial in some exposure compensation.

Down - Sabrina - Friendship is ... accepting everything

Fabulous idea, and the shot portrays the dog owner doing what is best for the dog but the dogs face says it all, great capture and nicely exposed with great focus, lovely capture of the water tbh I can't see anything wrong with this shot.

I voted for AlexHarrison's Friends forever I thought it was nicely done and a great take on the theme, I also liked Harry's birds which I felt he captured the detail well as well as the vibrant red's, Nicks was a great take on the theme as well, I loved the composition Nick.

I have some idea's for the next theme which I will post up tomorrow.

P.S. Hope the rabbit is on the mend Alex.

P.P.S Nick good luck getting sibbling to be nice to each other

Congratulations Dave, a nice win. Thanks for the crit, the reason it's dark (and reason I deserved a nillie) was beause I made the error of using the sports setting, which metered for the main subject, over exposed the sky then, in post processing, I adjusted the sky which darkened the subject. My entry was pants.....

Will do us/downs soon, as I like tostudy and think about it.

Congratulations Dave on a very emphatic win. I really liked the composition, processing and colouring of your photograph and I can easily see the obvious connection between Jess and Willow, even though there might be a bit of bribery with chocolate involved

UP: Friends by Harry.
Spot on focusing on the eyes and lovely colour and detail in the feathers. My only slight critique is that the crop above the bird's head on the right seems a little tight and perhaps the background is a little busy (but I doubt there's much you could have done about this).

DOWN: Friends For Ever by Jediboy
Awe, what a lovely photograph. Great colours and skin tones, shame that they aren't both looking at the camera at the same time, but I understand how difficult it must have been to get this shot of a tricky subject .

Thanks to Alex for my vote. It was only after tidying everything away and I was processing my shot that I noticed the dust on the draw knob. So, note to self - do the dusting, before doing any photography.

Doesn't seem to matter how many times I ask, nor how often, I don't think it's going to happen for a while. But then I'm sure I was exactly the same when I was their age. And thanks for the comment on my photo Dave.
