Ok Thanks have got it sorted I have now got both set of disc's on computer now 1 set from each camera
thanks to everyone whom has answered this question it really is appreciated.

You only need to install the software from the newest camera, as that should also support the older one.

Also I recommend you download the latest version of DPP from Canons website, then you'll be fully up to date with all the latest functions and bug fixes.

With DPP you can open a RAW image, adjust and then transfer to Photoshop

Via Tools > Transfer to Photoshop

By the way, the latest version of DPP is 3.12.52.0 You can download it from the Canon website.

guys, do you have any ideas how to view large raw files on mac?
Also I'd like to view gif on mac, but it seems Preview can't help to do that.....

Raw from what camera? The software that came with it should do. I am not at my Mac at the moment, but I am pretty sure preview opens GIFs.
