DD, I like your shot, but is your apple really that green for real?

Well, it is a granny smith and they are pretty green, however I have boosted it a little in photoshop when tweaking the curves and saturation, light and shade etc.

I will upload a token image, have been tied to the house looking after two sick women. So have been head cook and bottle washer and general dogsbody. I did pop into the garden and fired off a couple of frames, so will upload one of them.

Chris if it was up to me I would upload the second attempt, the slight brownish colour didn't bother me at all, but the pale green where it should be white I found to be very offputting. Just my opinion.

Well done Brendan1980 on a great and well deserved win, a great shot which missed my vote by a whisker.

My vote went to Sabrina's Trees are Green shot, I just loved it, couldn't fault it and funny enough I did go to school with a girl called Terresa Green (poor soul), when I saw your title I was reminded of her

Thank you to elviskennyg for my vote.

Well I did my down with my vote so that just leaves my up:-

Green shoots of recovery

a Nice clean crisp shot, a good idea to re-shoot it as the lowers ISO makes the image look so much cleaner in all a very nice shot.

A great standard this week which was reflected by the spread of votes.

Well done Brendon,
On my first viewing of the entries I thought your entry was the outstanding photo of the comp, but on closer examination I noticed in was not quite in focus, so my vote went to Alex's Kiwi Tryptych.

Downs.
Elviskennyg a good idea, but IMO turning the whites green was a mistake, similar to Chris's initial Granny smiths.

Up. Chris's Granny Smith. A big improvement on the original, but again the focus looks a little soft.

I'm now wondering if both these photos are on the soft side or whether it's down to the DCW galleries. I stopped using the galleries on this site because the photos not showing up correctly.

Congratulations on your win Brendon. I voted for you, as I really liked the vibrancy of your shot.

Up: Kiwi triptych by alexharrison101
Great shots, with good lighting. I think anyone of the individual photos might have won, but I feel that the division between them was a little too strong and overwhelmed the kiwi slices. Perhaps a lighter or wider border might improve it.

Down: Eat Your Greens! by wavemachine
I like this and it certainly met the brief, with a good range of greens. My only suggestion that it could do with being taken from a slightly higher angle, to lose some of the black background and get more of the veg into the shot.

Like Wavemachine, Sabrina's 'Trees are green' entry reminded me of a girl I used to work with. Her name was Theresa Hedges .

Thanks to all that voted for my entry. Here's to this weekend's theme.

Nick
