wow - i'm surprised to have won, some excellent shots this weekend i thought the colour theme went down well a few weekends ago, so may do something similar...keep your eyes open lol...

UPS: seconds. this is the shot i went for. at first i thought 'hmm, a watch...' then i noticed the second hand and how you'd captured the movement within a 6 second exposure and i realised how clever it was (i'm a bit slow sometimes...). great focus too, so well done.

DOWN: foot and inches. a clever idea, but to me this shot needed a bit more care when taking it. 1.8 seconds is a long time to try and hold a camera steady, especially at that angle. maybe try being in a brighter area or increasing your ISO next time (i see you already had a wide aperture). you could have perhaps have taken the shot sitting down too, and got a bit closer? i'm no expert, and these are of course just my humble opinions

Congratulations Alex, nice win!

UP: foot and inches
I agree with Alex. The idea is good, but execution could be better. There is motion blur because of long exposure. You can do long exposure by using a tripod, otherwise it is very hard not to move. Try to play with exposure time, ISO, aperture, and even flashlight. You will learn by playing with it and you will see your skills will improve

DOWN: Feet & meters
Nice idea, well executed. The picture is sharp, well framed, good exposure. Nothing wrong with it.

My vote went to 'seconds', I liked all the details in it.

Well Done Alex, a great win that got my vote.

HSutton - Feet & meters

Lovely image of a lovely piece of kit, spot on focus and nicely framed nowt wrong in my book.

Nick Gray - Salinity

Nice spot hit the them bang on, nicely exposed and I loved the framing only crit is the subject looked a bit to pristine would have preferred to see one with some dinks, rust or barnacles to give a bit of texture but can't fault how you captured your shot from the subject.

As for mine well not very creative nor imaginative, I am struggling a bit lately with my photography, I seem to suffer with it this time of year probably something to do with cold overcast weather but I will plug away

I see Dave suffers from my problem, winter blues

Ups Sabrinas Amps. excellent in every respect, my original thought was to photograph one of my multi meters, but Sabrina beat me to to it with her ampere meter.

Down. Daves thermometer, well perfectly themed, but a IMO a little boring.

My vote went to Nicks Salinity, Original and well photographed.

I have a problem with seeing who votes for what, as the names disappear after a couple of days. I guess there must be a way of seeing them, but it alludes me. I seem to remember Chris quoting a key combination, but dammed if I can remember it.

Well done Alex, a well deserved win. Apologies for my lack of entry but will try harder.
