Well done on a great win Mark very clever shot

My vote went to the Rolo, I remember scoffing nearly a whole packet so I could give the last one to a girl I fancied, never got me anywhere though, thinking back it may have been all the chocolate around my mouth and the gob full of chocolate and toffee that put her off

Congrats to Cutter on a good win.

Ups - Rolo (lazy me)
I really liked this shot. Well composed and well lit, great focus on the Rolo. Took me down memory lane and this may well have clinched the vote. My only observation is that the wrapper on the Rolo may have been more pleasing in the eye if the 'Rolo' part of the wrapper was at the front as opposed to the back of the wrapper.
But that's just me being picky, overall it's a great photo that fitted the theme a treat.

Downs - Love is sweet.
I really liked this and it nearly got my vote. Nice pastel colours and good idea. It's works well. For me, I'd have focused on the upright 'Hug Me'sweet, but only an observation. Overall, good shot that was well up there.

Thanks for the comments on my photo. I agree with the issues raised. I wasn't happy so was not going to enter. Then at about 1154 decided that I'd enter to get the numbers up. With only 6 or so minutes to play with I didn't have the time to straighten, although I had done a bit in PS before, but not straightening.
With hindsight I shouldn't have entered a photo that I wasn't happy with, and I doubt I'll do it again.
Thanks again.
Chris.

Well, I wasn't going to enter my photo either, as I wasn't totally happy with it. I had another shot that I thought was better compositionally, but it was OOF. So there's no telling what others will think of your entry until the poll opens and perhaps we are sometimes too critical of our own efforts.

Besides, I like seeing how others interpret the theme, even if they aren't happy with their entry.

Plus I like your photo, it reminds me of toffee apples.

Nick

Sorry it's took a while for my ups and downs. Here goes:

Thanks to damage, Jimbojumbo, Sabrina_De_Winter for my votes, much appreciated.

Up - Mark's Love Is : Seeing the bigger picture - I loved this, knew it would win hands down, well done. Please talk me through the processing, Im intrigued. Did you use actual models or a black template?

Down - Nick's Do you love someone enough to give them your last Rolo? - A nice take on the theme, good use of depth of field. I think I would have preferred more of the rolo logo on the packet than the sell by date, but thats me being picky.

Mine - I can see what you mean Mark, about the banding - this appeared when I added the omni light effect on PS3. Nick - The original was not as dark and I now wish I hadn't added the fake lighting effect. I tried to create a romantic, ambient feeling to the image but failed. Lesson learned. Thanks for you comments guys, much appreciated.

Toffee apples??
I see your point about being too critical of our own efforts.
I suspect we can all be guilty of that at times.

If you do an image search on Google for toffee apples I think you'll see what I mean. The colours and shine of your lantern seem to match those of toffee apples.

Some nice entries for this comp. it is ashame that on the week that I set the theme I could not enter. I was without Internet whilst I was abroad so could not vote either. Back now but do not think I will have time this weekend, back to it next week hopefully.

I can see what you mean now.
I'll have to remember this if ever the theme is set as toffee apples.
