But if I'm right, your picture has been made a few months ago.

the 2nd rule of the montly competition is:
To be valid images must be taken and entered after the theme has been posted, up to midnight UK time of the last day of the month. ALL of the elements of any composite images or montages must also be taken within this time frame.

I'm sorry about it...
Oh, I didn't know this. May be next time then!

Thank you - I ran out of time when I posted my entry, wasn't sure whether I was supposed to post it here too (being a newbie...)

Carol, theres a weekly and a monthly comp. The weekly one, we usually post our entry in the chat thread and the entries thread when we have our finished image. In the monthly comp, as its a technique rather than a theme, the purpose it that we take our image, post it in the chat thread, receive feedback and taking on board what people have said, we try to improve and come back with another attempt until we have an entry we like that others have given positive feedback on. Sadly, because we all have such busy lives, we don't get the chance to keep retaking so any improvements that can't be done post processing usually don't get done. So basically, post here in chat first until nearer month end approaches then once happy with entry, post it in the entries thread. But if you would prefer to just post in strainght to entries, thats cool too. Glad to have you here. Look out for the weekly comps too.

Because of some pants weather I've not really had the chance to get the photo I was hoping to get. So I have had a play with some images I took at the start of the month to try and get the HDR style right.
Is this looking any better??

Jediboy,

I'm not a pro, but I would like to see what it gives if you reduce a bit the color saturation.
And maybe a little more highlights smoothness (for the sky) I don't know. Just a guess, maybe worth trying...

I think you are right. It does look a little over saturated. And the sky looks very grey, but don't know how to smooth it?? I feel a google exercise coming up!
Thanks Sabrina.

I prefer this one. Less fluorescent colors.
