I am not competition minded but why not try a competition which doesn't have a theme just take a picture in the time frame of the comp.

That's a fair point.
Sometimes I struggle to get a photo that fits the theme, but at the same time the theme gets me taking photos that I wouldn't normally take.

Ups - Gula
I was intrigued by this photo. I'm guessing it was a birthday cake? A lot going on here, and I was a bit confused by the addition of the Spiderman and spider toy.I certainly fits the theme though, gluttony or greed I'm guessing (is that what Gula means??)

Downs - The sin of excess.
Good subject, fitting the theme nicely.Good colours and focus. Nothing wrong here for me.
Just my thoughts as always.

Jediboy, I agree with your comments. As mentioned before, I passed a 100% quality time weekend with my family. I was not planning to participate this challenge. As it was the 4th birthday of my son, there was a birthday cake (a spiderman cake, he likes spiderman ) This picture wasn't meant to be used for this challenge. But, I posted it anyway

My up's and down's:

UP: Lust

Black and red, the perfect combination. Sharp image, good exposure. Fits the theme. There was no doubt for me, I voted for this winner.

DOWN: (Lens) Envy

Sharp image, I like the infrared processing. Nothing wrong with it in my eyes.
