Execo, well done DD.

Up, DD: Seahorses: I can see the seahorses , to my taste the colors are a bit to hard. I see on the left upper part and the right under part that the nose of the horse and a part of the belly is cut of while you did the mirror.
It did get my vote because it was better than the onter entrie.

Down, alexharrison, smokin': I'm sorry alex if I'm too hard with my comments. But for me the shot was not sharp, the mirror didn't made it better and I don't like the colors neither.

I hope there will be more entries for next months comp. Something particular you would like to do DD?
I never did HDR, so that would be my suggestion. But I'm open for other good ideas

ouch...thanks for the honest feedback sabrina. i know it wasn't a good shot, but i did find this quite hard (serves me right for choosing a theme i couldn't do, eh?!). will try harder next time...

i liked both other entries - the simplicity of yours, sabrina, and the vibrance of yours, DD. looking forwards to the new theme, both of you

DD, I suggested HDR, but you can pick something else if you don't like that. I'm open for all challenges

I thought I would come in and say I have always wanted to do smoke photography but I cannot, my wife would smack me. The incense would give her a headache, even hours later if she was out.

I am in the same boat as Don on this one, I was able to do it last time as I had a garage the only place we have is a largish shed at the bottom of the garden but I am waiting for it to dry out after the recent floods.

I voted for DD's sea horses the main reason was on Sabrina's entry there was some of the backround not showing through as pure black on the left of the image, when I tried smoke photography before I found it best to try and put the backround back as far back as possible to avoid this and fiddle with the lighting angle. Thought I would mention this as no one else has.

I am quite keen to enter in HDR though

I agree with you.
It was the only time the smoke wanted to make that form I had many other sharp ones, but liked that one (and my dragons) the most. I tried to make the background black, but it erased the details of the smoke.
On my facebook ip posted my 2 picts for votes and this picture had a 5-17 win on the dragons, that's why I posted this one.
