Hi Steve

I think it's a nicely composed image but lacks the punch that such a beautiful scene deserves , this may be down to the time of day or just the light at the time you took the shot . The other thing that I noticed was that you had your lens wide open and at it's longest reach neither of which will get you the best results from it but you may of needed to keep the shutter speed up if you didn't have a tripod , can you tell us any more about your set up ?

Mark

Hi Mark

This was shot roughly mid day, murking clouds just about to start raining so lighting was not great, did not have a tripod, so hand held.
Again Conon 7D, EFS 18-85 lens, @ 85mm, yes lens wide open.

I need to take more time taking such shots and try and see if I can rest the camera somewhere when I don't have a tripod,

I think I can do a better job on processing this, maybe even change the sky, this might bring out the colours more, even play with the white balance slightly.

Thanks for the comments, every comment and idea helps me focus more on the actual shot.

Nice composition, in addition to what Mark said, you might want to rotate it anti-clockwise a touch to straighten the 'artificial horizon' of the water under the bridge.

I also think there needs to be a little bit more vertical space above and below the picture title, I'd keep the top and side borders as they are and double the height of the bottom border, or perhaps make the text smaller.

Regards

Nick
