Not rich. Just happen to work in an industry that requires me to travel all over the place.
Believe me it's not exotic, and it's not as much fun as you might think. You get to become an expert in Airports. Just occasionally you're not rushing from one country to the next and you get a chance to break out your camera and take a picture other than of your hotel room or out the window of an aeroplane.

I use a strong wrist strap which fits in the tripod mount on the camera and loops around my wrist when I'm out and about.... and only add a neck strap if I'm in a dodgy area.

I tend to be more worried about my iPhone. I can't say I've heard much about people being victims of robbery for cameras, but I've heard of loads of people who had phones stolen.
Anyone else heard much about cameras being stolen.

I must admit I've never come across any reports let alone any person that has been mugged for their camera but I'm lucky enough to live in a very quite a relatively safe rural area but that doesn't stop me from feeling a bit vulnerable when I'm walking about with over £ 1,000 worth of kit slung round my neck .

I was in Birmingham City centre this week with my D3, D800 plus Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 plus Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR round my neck equates to about £7,500.

I'd never leave my camera kit in the car. I am more worried about it being stolen from there as opposed to from me. I also worry that if I left it in the car the insurance company would quibble. Maybe that's because I'm suspicious of insurance companies. They're robbing b@&£%#s!!

You are right to be worried, as the other day on Watchdog, they suggested that you are only covered for about £300 of equipment on most care insurance.
