Will the lens used on a d7000 work on a d600?

We need to know what the lens is as the 7000 is a DX body and the 600 is a FX body .

Even if it's a DX lens it should still work on the D600 although I think the camera will automatically apply a crop factor and the resolution will be reduced.

You can also turn off the automatic crop and get FX images with a vignette - sometimes severe, othertimes not so bad - and crop to your liking later. This gives more cropping options - a bigger square than DX would allow, maybe, or how about a DX portrait format with the camera in landscape orientation? Some DX zoom lenses cover the full FX frame at certain focal lengths - I read that the 12-24 DX covers FX from 18-24mm, and it would be a pity to waste that.

So the answer to the original question is YES.

17mm on that lens with the D3.

I tell you what , even if the OP isn't interested in the reply's to their own question I'd like to say thanks because I didn't realise FX bodys had setting for the use of DX lenses , I new the mounts were the same but thought the resulting images wouldn't be of good enough quality to be of any use .

Maybe you should take a look at nikonians Mark. You'll learn more in a week there than a year of NPhoto magazine.
