Flare Problem

Hello guyz

I'm having here a little issue with my revers ring system.

the facts:

nikon d5100
revers ring + extension tube
canon EF 28-105mm locked to f16 or nikkor AF 28-80 mm (manual f-stop)
nissin di622 flash with lastolite 28" diffusor

you can see the construction here in one of the replys:

http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/fo...ageuser=149178

the problem: flare in the center of the image.

examples:

I tried to stick a hood at the lense, but with no success. that effect occures with a close background to the object. if the "pray" sits on e.g. a staw and the background is far away, the flare isn't noticable. well, actually it is, but very soft.

well the point is, that flare runins 50% of my shots, where getting the thing into the focus is like 10% succesfull... so - i can barely use 5% of the shots.

did anyone experienced that prob? what can I do to avoid it?

thank you very much for any hint.

cheers.

I guess, I figured it out. Still not perfect but I know what's the prob.

Its the "zoom lens". The mechanics inside of the lens from the rear is not light sealed. So light may reach the sensor bouncing between the wall and zoom tubes. there are also small gaps at the mount end.

covering theat area and leaving a hole for the lens only - it helps a lot. I guess I'll need some additional cover for eliminating the prob completely. something like a mini lens hood...

Why not use a black cloth as they used years ago. It's easier to cover all of the lenses and should stop any stray light.

because the prob is not around the lense, but at the light entrance... I have to build some hood for it.. as I still want to use the zoom feature. but I'll wrap the lense in a cloth also.

thank you very much for the advice!
