Amsterdam Photo Tips

I am off to Amsterdam at the weekend. Will only actually spend 4 - 5 hours in Amsterdam as the rest of the time is on a ship (mini cruise). Can anyone suggest good photo opportunities there please?

You will visit the red light district. Even if you aren't interested in availing of the services it is something of a tourist attraction in itself, however photography is very much frowned upon and there are signs up forbidding it.

Yeah, I know, shame really...there would be some good documentary shots to be had! The restaurant we have been recommended is in the red light area, Cafe Pacifico

The red light district is bigger than you would think and it's really just down the alleys where the ladies ply their trade that you can't take photographs. I have some pics from the RLD but just on main streets where there are shops etc and those are actually where you will get better documentary shots.

Hi are you going on the cruise which visits Volundam? The bridges at night are good to take pictures of, be careful in the RLD.
