Thanks to Dave, Jediboy and Chris. Very strange, but I made a post in reply to Dave's & Jediboys post earlier this morning. Must be gremlins in the system.

Your welcome, a bit strange your post going AWOL, I have looked in the threads for moderation and nothing is showing there! Wierd but then Halloween is almost upon us!

Well done Dave on the win. Great photo.

Ups - Halloween eyes.
I like this photo. The make up is wonderful and the detail in the eyes is great.

Downs - Through the eye.
This very nearly got my vote. I like the creativity in this and Chris' needle photo. They are both well executed and a bit different.
This has great detail and colours and I love the way smoke goes through the eye of the needle. The only reason it lost my vote was because the main smoke trail going up goes out of the shot on the right. That's just me being picky, because overall I was fascinated by this photo. Well done.

Good entries this week, and voting wasn't easy. Well done to all.

Wow, thanks everyone for my votes it was quite a spread of votes this week which is hardly surprising given the quality and diversity of all the entries.

I am trying to think up a new theme, will do my ups and downs later.

Congrats Dave a well deserved win. Eyes on this are amazing. Did you use a ring flash?

Why Thank you DD, nope I used a beauty dish attachment for my flash, I got a kit with my birthday money last year this is the one I think but I got it for about £80 including the flash adaptor.

I did also apply a bit of retro processing to the image, I was thinking of the 1970's Turkish Delight commercial when I planned the shot.

hsutton - Through the Eye

What an amazing shot, great colours, lovely smoke capture and incredibly creative the only issue I have is all the smoke activity distracts the eye of the needle a bit but still an amazing shot and given how much you have had to deal with lately you have certainly pulled all the stops out for this image, well done!

LaPistola - All Hallow Eyes

I always really look forward to your shots as they are always so different from the other entries (in a good way), once again you didn't disappoint to me there is nothing technically wrong with this shot, great focus, great DOF and nice composition I think there was some pretty stiff competition this week and it maybe didn't quite grab people as much as the other shots. Perosnally I do like it.

These are of course my opinions and I am entitled to one but my wife thinks otherwise

My vote went to Kerbsides - Halloween Eyes I loved the shot from the moment I saw it and loved the selective focus of the eyes. I did struggle to vote and was so stuck I had to get my wife to help me narrow it down in the end it was a close run thing between DD's Eye Drop, Hsuttons - Through the eye and of course Kerbside.

Thank you to alexharrison101, donoreo, kerbside, markgozz, Mudcrabmal, Sabrina_De_Winter, wil59 for my votes and to Jess for being a willing model although I did play the guilt card as she woke us up early after the clocks went back

I will think up a new theme and try and post it tomorrow.

Well done Dave, technically excellent, very well executed with beautiful skin tone. This was my second favourite, but my vote went to Jediboy another excellent photo, but with a different slant on 'Eyes' it was this difference that swayed my vote.

I guess that was my ups/downs in reverse
