Thanks Alex for the tips, I have ordered a set of the following which should be with me soon.

1 x Borwin 49mm +1 Close up Filter
1 x Borwin 49mm +2 Close up Filter
1 x Borwin 49mm +4 Close up Filter
1 x Borwin 49mm +10 Close up Filter
1 x Filter Pouch

Got myself an IR remote too, can't wait to try them out.

sounds good i've got a cable release (my camera doesn't have the ability to use an IR remote - it's only an 1100D) and it makes the world of difference if i'm using my tripod.
