cameras are here to stay

camera phones are very convenient if nothing else is to hand but there easily bettered for not a lot of money
the likes of nikon , canon etc.. would not be developing the technology if they thought there was no market place but what i can see happening is because of the phone camera revolution the lower end cameras will have to up there game to compete or fall by the wayside

It will be a shame to see the hummble compact go if it dose go as people generialy speaking need sume entery point into photography and i don't know if this the quick way in or has the technoligy changed so much from when I started in the late '70s & early '80s?

For people interested in photography, rather then holiday snaps, I think the camera will stay.
I know the film (analog) [I][I] gives better results. maybe its just me being a silly burp?what do ye think? frankly I think film gives a crisper, cleaner shot
