Frustrated

Hi all I will try to be brief. I have been looking to upgrade from my Nikon D80 for sometime but have been waiting to see what Nikon will release next. I almost got a D700 but decided to wait.
The reason for my frustration is that just over 2 years ago we purchased an expensive cooker from Currys which has developed a very minor fault and Currys have written it off and given us a voucher for £2500 to spend on anything we like. My wife won't let me blow the lot on a D800 but they don't stock the D700. I now don't know what to do as I haven't the funds to go elsewhare. I don't really want to go for a D7000 either. Just wandering if anyone has any thoughts or has been in the same situation. Sorry for the ramble.

Is the voucher named? If not is may be worth considering selling the vouchers. I have £100 of John Lewis vouchers and considered selling mine. Just watched £100 of John Lewis vouchers go on eBay for £97. It my be a way of getting some cash.

I have been issued with a voucher code which unfortunately is in my name which has to be used in store. Bit of a bummer really

That is a bummer.
The only thing I can think of is buying an item, and then selling the item. But it's a bit of a pain. Do you know anyone that wants anything from Currys? Maybe do a deal with them??

Thanks for your imput guys, I think I'll wait to see what announcements are released as the rumoured D600 maybe worth a look. I don't think there is going to a D300 replacement anytime soon although I might be wrong. Cheers

After a quick look around it would appear the Nikon D700 has now been discontinued so Currys probably couldn't get one anyway.

So I would wait a couple of days as suggested.

Yep the D600 could be the way forward as long as Curry's decide to get some in. It's going to be a big step up from a D80 and I'll need some new glass. I might go over budget.
