Yes I have a Tripod, not he best in the world but fairly stable. I am about to post some piccies in Critique if you would care to look soon. The are both a bit grainy, not sure why? They looked great on the camera LCD, then when I got home I noticed the flaws.

Forgot the up and downs, so here they are:

UP - St Mary's Church, Derby
A nice picture, did get my cote.

DOWN - Bad Moon Rising
Also a nice picture, would have had my vote if St Mary's Church wasn't that good. Maybe I would have chosen the bad moon rising if it was less blue and more black. But that is just a matter of taste.

I know it's late, apologies..

Congratulations Sabrina on your win. Lovely shot and love the reflection of the bridge and the oval shape it gives. Well done. I can see what looks like a light trail on the bridge, meaning a long shutter speed, but theres no star burst round the lights. I think an even longer shutter speed to give little star bursts would have been the icing on the cake.

This is very similar to an image I wanted to take from a similarly shaped bridge in the City Of Durham, England. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to visit there.

Up - Sabrina's Gent Image - comments as above

Down - Kerbsides Drag Racing - A clever shot, with great motion blur. Just a little too busy for me.

Mine - A little disappointed I didn't pull more votes, however thank you JerryWSL for my vote, glad you likes my image and I appreciate the vote.

As it got darker, the moon was getting too bright and metering for the moon meant I lost the detail of the pier and lighthouse. I had thought of layering this moon over a darker shot, but to be honest, have no idea how to do it but make it look real rather than fake. Something I need to learn me thinks (and advice/links to tutorials would be appreciated). And I have just this minute thought I could have bracketed.......grrrrrrrrr My inexperience.

If anyone would like to play with my images to do what I can't please let me know and I will email some to you.

Cheers

Thanks for comments. I knew it as soon as I looked on my phone but it was to late. The photo on the screen I used looked far better but more fool me for trusting an uncalibrated screen on a photo that required the up most accuracy on light level. Even more fool me for not checking my histogram while doing PP, thats a basic mistake.

Up - Bad moon raising.
What a moon. Great atmosphere on the moon as it is.

Well done to the winner, Sabrina got my vote as the second I saw it I said out loud Wow.

Down - Scarborough
Nice picture nothing to really say for it other than the sky could have been more blue.

I usually park on the riverside where the department for national savings is...Im not sure of the name of the bridge but I think it's Elvet Bridge. You get a very similar shot of the arches reflecting in the water and can capture the cathedral too, higher up.
