Rough Island

Just back from a family holiday in Dumfries & Galloway in south west Scotland where we discovered a wonderful tiny uninhabited island - Rough Island - reachable at low water via a causeway from a picturesque village called Kippford. Well, the opportunity was too good to miss so along with the kids and a disposable BBQ (!) I took along my trusty 40D, tripod and remote release to see what I could muster. Here's a couple of snaps, hope you like.



This next one was taken as a 30s exposure using a Haida ND3.0 ten stop filter

the last one is my favourite - love the colour in the sky and the stones in the foreground. i do like the reflection of the sky in the second too

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just starting to get my head around the 10 stopper so was quite pleased how that 2nd one came out cheers G.
