Circle & Mountain

This particular landscape has been photographed countless times I know, but not by me. I've been to Cumbria a few times but never to Castlerigg Stone Circle. This time I went twice, once at sunset and once at sunrise. I preferred this viewpoint as it conveys the protective nature of Blencathra in the background still with some snow on its summit.

Interesting shot and impressive clouds! Post process darkening or ND Grad filter?

Post processing but the clouds didn't need too much burning-in. It was a day of sunshine and hail and I was quite fortunate to get this streak of sunlight across the stones, it's just a shame that Blencathra didn't have some of the same. I was also fortunate not to have anybody around until I started to leave; it was a Wednesday evening about 1830h mid May.

There's still something missing (isn't there always!) and I can't put my finger on it, any thoughts?

That something missing maybe greener grass??

The only thing and its a picky niggle thing. There is an uneven distance between edge of frame and the first stone either side.

Yes that's true LP, not sure if that's an uneven crop, i'll have to look at the original. As to the grass I didn't alter the hue or saturation selectively, but I think it's been over processed.
