Great win Hssutton great capture love the flames in the tail, I went for the old postcard, just loved the processing. It was a tough decision they were all worthy winners.

Thanks for the comment Dave.

I've been a little tardy with my ups/downs of late so I thought I'd get in first on this occassion.

"Downs" first, as this is the one I voted for. Photographing flowers has been my passion for many, many years, so I'm a bit of a sucker for this type of shot. The lighting is perfect and I love the subtle focussing and colouring, but would have preferred just a touch more definition on the the stamen.

Up. not too sure what to make of this photo as the focussing appears a little strange for this type of photo, I get the impression that Tilt & Shift focus as in the monthly comp was used? My apologies if I got that wrong.

Well done to the winner.

Harry its not tilt & shift but no need to apologise. The focus is how it came out of the camera. Its a very narrow DOF as it was a macro shot of .22 pellet's. The crop was rotated to get the angles at an unusual slight awkwardness.

Up - Old Postcard
My favorite out the bunch. I thought the photo chosen fit's well with the effect. The PP looks good and works overall to bring the whole thing together as a postcard.

Down - Eurofighter
I imagination these are hard to capture with there distance and speed. Its a decent shot but for me not quite there. For me I would have liked something else of interest (maybe trails) in the shot and maybe the plane less centred or more frame filled. Only an opinion, I have no experience trying to photograph planes in the air.
