Yes your camera is capable of taking great photos and definately capable of taking image like I posted up, it is the photographer at the end of the day not the equipment. Those pictures I posted up are just examples of a shot taken recently in similar conditions, I am quite pleased with them though but there is a lot I don't like about them

.
I seem to remember reading that you are fairly new to photography it is an exciting time, you are still getting to know you camera and trying to get you head around the principles of photography which need practice so go and practice and keep trying, remember there is also an element of luck.
You need to get an understanding of lighting and exposure, understanding the effects of aperture, ISO and shutter speed etc
this is worth playing around with.
Also have a read about the exposure triangle here is an article I just found:-

The main thing though is to enjoy and practice, that way you will learn and have a whole lot of fun and don''t be hard on yourself this is a great hobby and very rewarding but there is so much to learn, everyone here is still learning as are all the pro photographers.
Of course there are plenty of people to give help and advice here, I have learnt so much from people here it is a great forum.
Oh and don't forget the weekly and monthly photo comps that we set
here, it is a great way to learn and a bit of a challenge remember to read the rules at the start of the thread.
