Raw Probs
is there a plugin or update so that I can open raw files from my 550D in Photoshop CS3 extended

Yes and no. CS3 or the version of Adobe Camera Raw that it works with will not open the RAW files from your 550D. You can download the free Adobe DNG converter and it will . So you would convert your RAW files to DNG (Adobe's RAW format) and then open in ACR and CS3.
