Andrew (Wotcars) congratulations! Twice the number of votes as the number two! Which was yours truly ... and everybody else!

What a strange end result; Don't think this has ever happened before.

Ups and downs:

Up. Dave Wavemachine's dark and moody shot. I liked it, but for me, it did not quite fall into the expected (by me anyway) 'red white and blue' category.

Which my 'Down' one definitely did. Nice, garishly coloured Jubilation cakes by LaPistola. This would have had my vote, if the Queen herself, hadn't come along to give us that cheery wave!

She, of course, did get my vote!

Thank you Andydo, Semaj and jet_kit for your votes. It was a poor-ish celebration picture, but better and much more festive than the ones I shot at the 'big do' that was totally ruined by torrential rain.

Thanks for the crit Reinardina, I picked up on this bit of the thread as there was little or nothing Jubilee happening here until the Monday.

Up - Wotcars - Royal Wave

Nice spot and really well captured, great balance of exposure and nice movement of the hand a worthy winner.

Down - Reinardina - Bunting

Nice capture bang on theme, only suggestion is maybe a slightly different composition shot at a wider aperture to get a bit of DOF with the flags going into the distance having said that your shot is lovely shot.

Thanks to mondmagu, Mudcrabmal, wil59 for my votes.

A very wierd result indeed with one first place and the other entries joint second

My vote went to DigiDiva's "Man & Wife, A Perfect Moment" this shot for me was spot on, beautifully captured and pin sharp great work DD!

Looking forward to the next challenge.

Well done Wotcars, a great capture and so on theme..Got my vote. A fun photo, made me smile and says a lot about the British and their humour, even when times are hard.

Ups - LaPistola's cakes - Again, spot on theme, great D of F and a worthy joint 2nd place

Downs - As above

Everyone else - well done for rising to the challenge of this great, fun theme.

My entry - I wasn't expecting any votes to be honest, as this was just a mum capturing a precious moment in her son's (and my new daughter-in-law's) lives. I has the camera on preset portrait mode as all I wanted was to capture my moments as a snap shot. Thats why i paid a fortune for a professional!!!!! The highlights are blown out but apart from that I love the image. Sharp, great composition (my mum throwing confetti) and the guests surrounding the happy couple. Thanks to Cutter (Mark), LaPistola and Wavemachine (Dave) for their votes. Very much appreciates and Dave, thanks for your feedback.

Up - Bunting

I feel a little harsh to criticize this photo as it was a last minute make do entry. Ill second the comment that a different composition and some DOF would have made a more pleasing shot. Still it was straight fitting with the theme.

Down - Man & Wife, A Perfect Moment

Now then I had a dilemma as I loved the queen waving, very funny but technically not a brilliant shot. Man & Wife got my vote as although just a snap in the eyes of the author, it was timed well and suited the theme brief more. My only crit is for my liking just a little to much vignette.

Well done. Thanks for the votes on mine and just to let you know the cakes tasted lovely

Thanks for the critique. I always get carried away with vignetting!
