1st try of Haida ND3.0

Just got a new Haida ND3.0 filter so gave it a try on holiday at Sandsend near Whitby on the weekend, see what you think:

This was taken at f11 / 30 secs about an hour before sunset, and is the first time i've tried such a hard-stopping ND filter, and although its a bit of a bland effort, i'm hopeful for some good potential with it as I get used to it.. hope you like, comments very welcome Cheers, Graeme

Hi Graeme

I don't think this was probably the best scene for your test but I know what it's like when you get a new toy to play with , I think in this case you could of done with a ND grad to go with your other filter as the sky looks a little over exposed and the posts look a bit under . Also I think if you had closed down the aperture even further to lengthen the exposure time you may of got more movement in the clouds .

Keep posting the images so we can see how you're getting on .

Mark

Hi Mark, cheers for this. Yeh, duh, why didnt i think of sticking one of my ND grads on, what an iijut! Will make sure to remember that one next time! As for longer exposure, yeh i was expecting to use bulb mode and go plus 30s, but - typically - my remote shutter release, which had been working fine all day, declined to even power on whilst on the beach... so 2sec self timer and 30sec max it was. (It started working again as soon as I got back...grr..)

Appreciate the feedback, & will post some more soon. Cheers, G.
