Help please!!!

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum,I have a Nikon D50 with various lens which I bought around a year or so ago.I have recently been taking photos of the birds in the garden and tried to set the camera up and use a remote shutter release but doesn't reach to the bottom of the garden. Can anyone tell me where I can buy a wireless remote shutter release for my camera,I have seen on the internet that Vivitar make one,but can only get one from the states.not really wanting to pay to much,as looking to buy a D90 after July. Can anyone help.

Hi Ballyb

I've just put in a search for a Nikon wireless shutter release into Amazon UK and it came back with pages of results from a £3 Shoot infra-red remotes to a Hama wireless remote for £32 , I have the Nikon ML-L3 infra-red remote and a Shoot cable remote timer both of which work perfectly so don't be put off by third party items . The IR remotes are basic and you need a good line of sight for them to work properly but they can be picked up from Amazon for as little as £2 , the wireless remotes with a transmitter and receiver that plugs into the GPS socket on the D90 are a lot more useful with more controls and flexibility and for £32 I don't think their overly pricey .

I'm not sure if all the remotes work with both the D50 and the D90 so you need to check that out if you buy one before you upgrade your camera .
