copyright of uploaded images

does the following mean that if I uploaded images (like your mision) I will lose all rights to those images

You hereby: (a) grant Future and its group companies an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free right to use, distribute, copy, edit, adapt, license, distribute, transmit, publish, publicly perform or display any such Content in any form or medium anywhere in the World; and (b) irrevocably and unconditionally waive any moral rights or similar rights you have in any Content pursuant to the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended, superseded or replaced from time to time) (the “Act”) or equivalent legislation anywhere in the World.

Certainly looks like it doesn't it.

Personally I have never uploaded photos to this site.

Digital photography magazine should know better than to 'steal' photographers' images. Won't be entering the monthly comp and will probably cancel my Digital Camera subscription.

Technically they are not stealing, you are agreeing to their terms.

I suppose that applies to new members. (people who have actually registered on this site).

It's the thousands of users that were migrated into this site from DCM - Photo Radar, and assumed the T&C are the same as they were before.

I'm not sure they were to be honest.

This got discussed at length when Photoradar first saw the light of day. Probably the earliest posts in this forum have some of the aftermath.

I don't think that in any way, you're giving up all rights to a picture.

I think you need to give Future the right to display your gallery images once you've uploaded them, otherwise how can they show them to anyone else?.

How much they can do with them, once you've said that they can show them to others, is moot.

That's not the way I read it - seems like you have given up all of your rights to that picture.

The terms laid out are completely unnecessary just to show your uploaded photos in the gallery associated with this site. By uploading a picture you have given Future implicit rights to display it here - they DO NOT need full rights to do with it whatever they desire!
