Sorry for the delay on commenting, have spent most of my PC time reistalling backups after my weekend crash.

Up's, to be quite honest I'm not quite sure what to make of this, as it's not my cup of tea. For originality I must give 10 out of 10. Not sure I agree with Jeff re. the cherry, it would have been in the wrong place but a nice red strawberry would have been nice.

Downs. Well you can never beat a well photographed red rose and this one was out of the top draw, so well done Dave.

OK, here ups, downs etc.

Thanks to Bill McGilligan for my vote. I think he has voted for me before but I have no idea who he is. He doesn't post on here. Maybe he felt sorry for me lol. I wanted to try something totally out of my comfort zone and as I said earlier it would either be loved or hated. Someone has offered to buy a print of it it for a canvas , so thats great for me!

Up's - Jeff's Strawberry - I felt this needed a like saturation boost to bring out the colours.

Down's - HS Suttons Red Water - having done this recently myself, I appreciate how hard it is to create a crisp, sharp shot, so well done.

Dont know enough to comment on ups and downs but for me the Rose stood out by a country mile whereas the strawberrys were a bit lacking in standout colour and the red seats although an interesting shot didn't really do anything for me

Well done Dave on a great win. Beautiful subject and beautifully captured. Loved the composition too. It got my vote from the start?

Above
Wotcars Remember : loved the processing nice idea to 'pop' the red. I might have gone for a tighter crop so that the poppies dominated the shot a little more Still an interesting shot.

Below
Kerbside's Strawberry: Mouthwatering shot but I feel it's a touch over exposed. I may have played around with the dof on this one too.

Thanks to DD, GUY1970, kerbside and ogri1st for your votes. I didn't even notice the wires in the background I'll clone them out now
