Orchid

I posted a version last night but tried again tonight to get a more level shot.

Taken with Nikon D7000, Tamron 90mm macro.

I really like the composition of this shot and the vivid colours stand out well against the white background but I think symmetry is very important with this style of photography and unfortunately this particular bloom has a slightly wonky section right in the centre , hopefully you have some more blooms that you can work with because I think it will make a very nice image .

Mark.

Thanks Mark. That's a lot more constructive than a comment I got elsewhere.

I agree with Mark regarding the symmetry however pushing that to one side I do like the colours and the milky effect, it makes the image quite soothing to look at and at the same time makes me want to explore it and see whats what in other words it held my attention, I do agree also with Mark regarding the composition as well I do like it.

With regards to the comment you got elsewhere if it was not helpful nor constructive then I would not take any notice of it, to me it is fine for someone to say I don't like a shot but they need to give you something to go on so you understand why they don't like it and how it can be improved. Of course at the end of the day it is someones opinion and you now have two opinions of people that like the shot so 2 - 1 now
