David Suchet's People I have Shot!

Is anyone watching this/did anyone see it. It's very good. He is tracing the steps of his grandfather who was a pro photographer.

David Suchet's People I have shot

I watched both this programme, and the series 'Britain's First Photo Album' where John Sergeant retraced and reproduced some of the photos of Francis Frith.

Both excellent programmes, full of enthusiasm for the subject, and it was interesting to compare techniques then and now, as well as noting the inevitable changes over time.

It was particularly interesting to see the quality of the original photographs in David Suchet's programme - could we improve, or even reach, the same standards with our modern cameras?

In the case of the Frith photos, I have done a similar project and reproduced some of the shots of my local area. Well worth trying out yourself - try shooting in black and white if your camera is capable, though you can of course convert in Photoshop.
