Selling 10-20mm lens, thinking about

Thinking about selling the Sigma 10-20mm lens. But it doesn't focus properly.

One side of the lens is rather soft and blurred and over all the focussing isn't spot on.

I know I wouldn't get much for it.... I payed £350 for it from Hong Kong. I have learnt my lesson not to buy anything from a foreign country ever again.

What are the best camera 'trade-in'/second hand shops?
UK only!!

Sigma makes good lenses but it sounds like you got a defective one, and may have taken a hard knock during transportation. Many lenses are now made in China or Korea, so buying foreign isn't really bad. I have a couple of Sigma lenses and they are great. My Sigma 18 - 250 mm telephoto is made in Japan and is awesome!

As for trading it in, look for your online camera dealers; they usually do trade-ins. Over here in the States, I go online and tell them what I want to trade. They e-mail me with a free shipping label to send it to them. They evaluate it and get back to you with a price. However, if your lens is as bad as you say, they may reject it.

I just converted your pounds to dollars and it works out at $560. That's a right good price to pay for a lens, and it ought to produce good results. You could also contact the Sigma corporation. They have lens repair shops that could fix that lens for you if you wanted to keep it.

John, give up. There was a really long thread about his issues. He sent it to Sigma, they adjusted it, etc. So many people here tried to help as well.

I agree with Donoreo (I STILL don't know your name!). So many people on this forum have tried to help, plus it's been shipped back to Sigma already.
He's convinced himself (but no-one else) that the lens is defective. Let him go ahead and sell it if that's what he wants to do,

You can read my previous post about this lens and let me know your own thoughts about the lens. Link

Here are two example photos I took last year. As you can see, the left of the photos are out of focus and it doesn't focus overall.

I read the previous thread and can think of nothing that hasn't already been said. Perhaps borrow another camera. Set your camera on a tripod and take a photo. Then do the same thing with the other camera, taking in the same scene. Compare the photos. If the one with the borrowed camera is good, then it would point to your camera as the problem. Do you get good results with the kit lens that came with the camera, assuming you got one?

Yes I got the kit lens, the 18-55mm. It works perfectly well.

My dad asked someone at a camera shop about the Sigma and he said they would give it an assessment. I might give it a go and see what they say. Not sure about it though.

My father agrees that it could be better
