Shame. I don't and won't do Farcebook. Mind you, I don't think I'll be doing much more NPhoto either - too simplistic, too much photoshop, not enough Nikon specific stuff. Most of the articles could apply to any other brand with little or no change.

I'm with you, Chris. I've seen what this Facebook nonsense can do. My daughter is addicted to it and gets very agitated from time to time, when her comments are misunderstood or when someone 'Flames' her. As far as I'm concerned it should be scoured from the face of the Internet and the clown that dreamed it up should be locked away to keep the rest of the world safe and sane.

Im also with the both of you in this i have a facebook account and also a page but i dont want to go there to look at things like this and there are a lot of people who feel the same this isnt a good idea whatsoever . why would this be happening in the first place? one of the things i pride myself in and its almost my gimmick is that not one of my images from my website or indeed facebook page has been photo shopped or altered by external software everything with the exception of some filters is the camera and my eye and imagination and I hate all the new mags crammed full of images put together to make one, its not real and in some cases downright cheating I know obviously thats just my opinion but i dont like photoshop .

I disagree completely.

Facebook, like all things in life, is perfectly harmless and can be extremely useful if used sensibly. Unfortunately a lot of people do not use it sensibly, luckily all my friends are adults and do, so for me Facebook is a service not a master.

And do you seriously think that if Facebook was removed from the Internet your daughter's problems would go away? I'm sorry to burst you bubble but that would happen, all she would do is find another social site to get 'addicted' to and the same thing would happen there. And even if you took away the Internet there would still be the problem of text bullying.

This is not Facebook's fault just another symptom of youth, and you just have to live with it until she is mature enough to cope with real life.

Some people get addicted to forums and bulletin boards too! And I have seen what that can do!
