I think you'll find that wasn't me. See first post in thread.

Correct, it does indeed, and that I have mentioned on various occasions. I can hold my hand up to that one.

Thought I'd pop back and see how things were going, but it appears they're even worse than before...

Lack of posts aside, the number of photos in some of the 'hardcore' member's galleries since the site changed (what was it, 2-3 months ago?) seem to be very low too.

As I said before the change, if the publishing house wants the site to do well, it needs to focus on the content and engagement. Look at http://www.facebook.com/Digitalcameraworld - fresh content, people interacting with posts. They should have bridged the gap between the forum and the facebook page...

After the switch, I just started using Flickr. You make a good point about Facebook. It seems the new community manager is too busy on Facebook and Twitter all day long rather than engaging the community here.

It's time to knock this forum on the head imho.

I left several weeks ago as there wasn't enough interaction and like others here found my post responses very low.

The weekly/monthly competition pages being the only active pages really, and even they lost my interest - not through the members, well in the main, but because it got stale for me. No injection or support from the site manager or even promotion of these competitions on other media/outlets.

No, I think just let it die - lets be honest, the life support was turned off ages ago - let it die now and just move to FB.

I wouldn't really disagree with this - total lack of support from the editorial team. But I reckon it's going down the pan (Future still suggest photoradar.com still exists!!) and it'll gradually move across to TechRadar. Magazines'll amalgamate (PhotoPlus already has the same articles as Digital Camera World)

LOL! FB's the domain of spotty teenagers - but not bad for specialist niche areas of interest (just as long as they benefit from a blog/timeline style of input - which is why FB's new timeline makes sense as it's always been that way). Scattergun approach with images and articles don't do anything for me - I prefer a structure

I'm really not that fussed as there's more than enough credible websites around for 'togs of all abilities. I dare say I'll hang around - after all someone has to be around to switch off the lights!
