Maybe just a tad more infill required with light but that's a personal thing, i was going to try something similar but trying to get shadows of bars on the wall but hey ho. Good pic Chris you must be pleased.

.
I was pleased and thanks for your critique, its appreciated. I'm not sure what you mean by 'infill', a gap in my knowledge. Can you explain whatyou mean/how to? Thanks

OK, been to pub for a surprise treat from hubby, food and wine...what more can a girl want, apart from a ring flash (oops that souns rude..lol) but ready for ups/downs etc.

Bendall - Congrats on the win. A strong image, well timed and well shot. Great that you pulled off a win first entry. Welcome to the competitions and long may you enter.

Firstly, thanks to clickin girl, markgozz, TwinnieE and wotcars for my votes.Much appreciated.

Ups - awRaw3 - Rising - I thought there was maybe too much going on for a photo thats suggests solitary, however, great D of F, and the yellow really pops out.

Downs - Jeff's solitary plane - you said you don't want critique so will honour your request. I know how you feel, been there many a time but I must say, you left your entry in where as I have spat that dummy out and withdrawn mine before so well done, leaving any entry you didn't like.

Mine - I feel it is my best image ever and thought I was in with a chance this week. I really apprciiate the votes and the comments. We were both worse for drink when I took it, so both missed the watch and hubby actually fell asleep in his pose! Not sure theres a lot more I can give to pull more votes now, this was my best shot. Though I do love the comps, I'm getting so very frustrated now.

Overall, the entries this weekend were so very different to how I expected. Great take on the theme from you all. Looking frustratingly but excitedly to this weekends theme.

Well done Bendall well deserved win, got my vote.
DigiDiva you were my second choice, a great shot but what a way to treat your husband after a night out.

Up Cutter - All Alone
Superb shot well taken as your usual, I didn’t get the solitary too much as I felt she was in the company of the
Supreme Being could be the location.

Down
donoreo Diamond Solitaire
Love the title Solitary Solitaire may have been more apt, the shot was well taken and the DOF just right maybe
a wee bit of sparkle would have added a bit more to it.

Jim.

Below: Bendall - Forced solitude
Cracking shot... got my vote. Great win. As well as it being a beautiful and well balanced shot, I just thought the capture was one of those 'moments' I'd love the get.

Above: donoreo - Diamond Solitaire
I really liked this shot. Possibly a little more space around it to breathe but the tones and focus were spot on. Great idea for the theme as well.

Another one that nearly got my vote was deena's Solitary Flower - it had only had 1 stalk I think it may have :-)

Got many a chuckle at work that, along with a bloke talking about improving his broadband connection by cutting his bell wire

Congratulations to Bendall! Beautiful shot and I would imagine a magical moment to capture. Well done!
My vote went to Twinnie's 'Solitary Man'. Loved the processing, very dramatic, very moody, and the umbrella definitely swung it for me DD - I loved your shot too. But I must admit, the watch just took the edge of it. But I love the fact that you're getting creative. All that schoolwork is paying off

Up
kerbside's 'solitary plane' - i know you dont want any feedback, and I too, have done the same thing as a last minute entry. I do like the fluffy clouds though

Down
ogri1st's 'tower of solitude' - great shot, I liked the dusting of snow in the foreground and the dramatic sky. not sure why it didnt pick up any votes

Thanks to cutter, hedgehog, kerbside and mabbutt for your votes this week. Pea - if I had known, I would have yanked the other stalk out. Damn it!
