Hi
If you don't mind me asking, how do you take a photo through a telescope? is there a connector or is it a bodge job?
Forgive my ignorance
Cheers.

Hi wodm

This link might help you

I used to own a Newtonian scope with a focal length of 1000mm and tried 'prime Focus' (using the 200mm mirror as a lens) and had some good results, but as the winter nights got cloudy more often than not so i sold the scope and bought a decent lens for my Nikon LOL

You could always find a friend with a scope and piggyback your camera on it, and still get some amazing images...

Hi Jimmy

I know you have said that you are busy but I was just wondering if you have had a chance to try out your new astophotograph gear , just asking because I was out with the dogs this morning and managed to get my first shot of the sun showing two sun spots . Didn't think this possible without special kit until I saw one of your coastal shots .

Hey Mark

What a faff it is. After several changes in the adapters needed to connect the camera to the telescope I'm no further forward. I now need a special lens to put on the eye piece as the camera couldn't focus to any great distance .... (). I'm waiting for that to arrive>......

You got the sun spots too? Cool isn't it. I captured them by accident, but you have to have a slightly misty horizon. Let's see them then!

Not the best of shots but not bad for hand held and being pulled about by two Jack Russell's .
Taken with a Sigma 18-250 , the main spot is almost dead center and the other one is a small group of faint spots just below and to the left .

Before you ask no their not dust spots , I took a couple of shots at different angles .
I added a couple of my other extraterrestrial shots to gee you on .

Unfortunately due to the change over your pictures are no longer available. This is my first attempt linking my Canon 1000D
to a Celestron AstroMaster 130 telescope. The Moon was a bit hazy, not the best picture but now I know it works I will use the
D7 and hope to get better results.

I'm lucky where I live. We are out in the country and there are no street lights for light pollution. On a clear night, you can see whole constellations as well as star clusters.....truely is awe inspiring.....millions of lights peppering the inky black sky....
