HAHA don't worry about it, last weeks win must have made you feel good.....Im beginning to realise no matter how hard I try I aint eva gonna win again! But I learn each time, this week I learned about lighting and how hard it is to get it right and also how to ensure ya model doesn't leave on his watch!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm waiting for the critique......I know what's coming) That, for me, is what counts and how you feel personally about your image.

I love mine, think its my best image to date so the stats don't matter.

Congratulations to Bendall on your winning image.
Well deserved win!!
Welcome to the forum.
*fist bump*

Thanks deena, DigiDiva, karenoliver, rkraw3 and wavemachine for your votes.
I was surprised to get any!

My vote went to DigiDiva - Alone and Desperate.
Excellent idea, the lighting and the use of black and white created the mood
perfectly. I feel the watch added too the image as well.
This is your best shot yet!

Up
Orgi1st – Tower of Solitude
Really liked the composition and the sky.
Great find and capture.

Down
Wavemachine – Alone in the Fog
Lovely composition and great model!
Works well in mono.

Great composition and use of texture to add to the shot.

A technically perfect shot, love the focusing to add to the solitude and a neat idea.

Chris/deena, no need to waste your time giving any critque on my picture it was a last min: think i will stick that in and it got what it deserved, zero points.

up - Alone and Desperate

Loved the take on the theme, grey scale works well with this, surroundings were shabby chique ( don't want to upset Chris here). Maybe just a tad more infill required with light but that's a personal thing, i was going to try something similar but trying to get shadows of bars on the wall but hey ho. Good pic Chris you must be pleased.

down - Solitary Flower

This put me in the mind of something taken among mayhem, a war scene or disaster of some sort, life struggling to survive. Lovely DOF, really great shot.

Great win Bendall, I was torn between your entry and the one from TwinnieE, my vote went to TwinnieE in the end but it was a hard decession that took me a while.

Up - TwinnieE - Solitary Man

It got my vote loved the shot, loved the idea and loved the way the lane and hedges drew me into the subject, great mono processing as well only thing I would have considered is cloning the telegraph wires out of the top by the tree. Superb shot.

Down - Cutter - All Alone

Once again a flawless shot, superb processing, lighting and the photographic technicalities as I would expect from you Mark This may sound strange but as a picture left me with a bit of a mixed bag of feelings sort of sad because she was alone but then again it was almost like she had found something. As a shot though it made an impact and I really liked it but didn't quite say solitary to me.

Thanks for your crits Mark and TwinnieE, TBH I didn't quite achieve what I wanted and I take on board your comment Mark although funny enough Pea24 said he would of preferred if she was stood still, personally I would of liked here further in the distance but my model is past posing so I had to pick the best from a series of shots many of which other people had managed to sneak in to doh!

BTW DD, I noticed the watch

Congrats on the win Bendall, got my vote as it evoked a great feeling of being on your own.

Will do my ups and downs later.....bit tired tonight. Was in A&E from 2000hrs last night and didn't get home til 2330hrs.

Nothing serious, I was tending the fire and a kindler fell on top of my hand, had to go to Casualty for a check up. Got treated for a 3rd degree burn, only the size of a penny piece, but I was waiting 3hrs just for a bandage.... Better to be safe than sorry....especially after my last burning incident.....didn't get it checked out til the next morning..had very serious burns to my forearm, was close to needing a skin graft for that one!..been left with a 3" by 1" scar now...serves as a reminder of my stupidity...
