Portrait for Magazine Profile

There is a local magazine that wants my photo for a profile they're doing. I've done some minor edits to the photo, but please let me know your thoughts. The profile is of someone who lives in the area (Miami) and works for a local business as an attorney.

Thanks!

I'd pull back on the saturation I know it gets hot in Florida or he's blushing after handing out his bill.LOL. Probably the flash has bounced off the ceiling.

Thanks for the feedback, littlebro!

I knew something looked off, but I didn't know how to fix it.

How does this look?

I find the background a little distracting Bob

I agree with the others, there is a red colour cast that is distracting also a different colour tie such as blue would help the shot quite a lot along with a more neutral background the focus etc is fine on the picture.

The second one you posted is a vast improvement though.

Also try different poses, a slightly tilted to the side shot looks less formal passport like although the pose you have there is quite good, I guess it is what you are trying to convey in the magazine profile i.e. friendly, approachable, means business etc.

I have done a few corporate shots and know they are pretty tricky.

These are of course just my opinions.

I appreciate the feedback everyone!

This was actually a random shot that I took at a wedding reception, and he's dead set on using this one.

Do you think it would help if I made the background darker?

Sounds like the customer is happy, I think maybe darkening the background will help maybe even reducing the red tint wil be enough. If you use PS or elements you should be able to get a pretty good idea by trying it roughly with the quick selection tool.
