I am finding this difficult. Aside from one day where I was already in bed and had to get up to take a photo, I have taken at least one daily. However, I am not liking them much. Too much indoors. After work, and playing with the girls and dinner, etc, and by the time they go to bed it is 8:30 before I get a chance to shoot. I am getting bored with that. At least last night I went outside to shoot, but then I was out there anyway shovelling snow.

I got close up filters to try some more macro stuff, but they are really fiddly and I do not have time to play around with them. Macro would give me more things, but I do not and cannot get a macro lens at the moment. Besides, a wide angle would be purchased before a macro. I want it more

Yep it is really tough, not so bad for me at the weekends when I can get out and about but the last few days have been tough, there are quite a few of the images I have taken which I do like but there are a few I am not that struck on.

Having said that I am finding it quite rewarding and despite my wife's hospital visit, me being struck down with a stomach bug along with a very painful abscess on one of my back teeth I have still managed to keep up.

It is really good to see that you and the others are still going strong and I think everyone is doing a great job and doing some great shots.

Right now I have no idea what to photograph tonight. I have a lot of my first 30 that I do not really like.

For me it's all about exploration and pushing myself, about trying to find a photograph in the most mundane curcumstances.

When you get out of bed at 10am, get dressed and go straight to work, have 1 hour break and then get home at 10.30-11.00pm, there is very little opportunity to take a photo, so you have to think outside the box, and turn something into an oportunity.

Often this means not getting out my camera gear at all; most of my shots have been taken on my iPhone or compact. I'm using a discovering more Apps to use and process shots.

Every walk into town I'm looking for shots, household implements, my family & pets, I've stopped the car on the way home, gotten out and taken a shot & I;d not normally do that. I've taken the camera to choir rehearsals & taken a photo of them singing. If all else fails there's always self portraits.

I'm using gear I haven't used for ages; my Canon nifty fifty I haven't ever used on my 5D MkII, that's over 2 years ago since I last used it. I've now used it on 3 shots because I can hand hold it at f1.8 in the kitchen under the normal kitchen light. I used the extension rings with the 50 f1.8 which I've not used for a long time.

Some of my shots I've been more than pleased with, some are acceptable and some are more 'that'll do', but overall I'm getting a lot out of it.

Don, Dave Wavemachine does loads of flower shots, Pea does different things with loads of selfies, if he's left it too late, Cathus is a totally different kettle of fish and photographs everyhting that crosses his path, as he says. You should have a look there and be inspired.

Maybe I haven't encouraged you enough? (I don't give technical feedback, but some nonsense remark may keep the sprit up?)

I myself have a habit of pointing the camera at things that exasparate my daughter; last time we were in Sheffield visiting her, I photographed the hotel room furniture (detail only. Someone called a 3D Mondrian, which quite pleased me), my bag and glasses on the train table, and even my drink. Most came out very nicely.

You are great at commenting on Flickr. I am just bored with what I have as subjects. I drive to a from work, so no opportunity there. I need to expand my ideas.

Can't you stop somewhere? And can't you photograph anything at work, or in your lunch break? Your lunch, or the canteen or restaurant, the view etc etc.

And have a look at the dashboard; look at the details, the dials, knobs and buttons.
You must be able to set your camera on F2.8 and have a go.

When you've finished with the dashboard, turn your attention to the car keys, the fob, the lock, details of the seat, the hinges, the windscreen wiper mechanism. Something left behind in the boot.

When you're home, look at normal everyday things: cutlery, cups and saucers, with or without a hot, steaming drink, a bottle of nice stuff, and a glass.

Details of the bannisters (if you have them), brickwork, edges of gardenpaths, your girls, their shoes (you've done one, they must have more), their toys.

Board games, log fires, furniture (details) etc etc.

Has this helped?

I'm now going to bed, as i'm dead tired!

See you next time.

That is exactly what I meant, I was at work so could not put the time into my post. Yes, I need to look more.
